Service League Awards $50,000 To Local Charities

Goshen Valley Foundation was 1 of 8 recipients of the Service League of Cherokee County's Community Impact Grant program.

The Service League of Cherokee County earlier this month awarded $50,000 to eight local charities and organizations in Cherokee County.

Like the Service League, each of these organizations are working diligently to serve the needy children of this community.

Originally, the League committed up to $30,000 for the Community Impact Grant program, but due to the overwhelming success of the 30th annual Riverfest Arts & Crafts Festival and several of the organization’s other fundraisers, the organization was able to devote an additional $20,000 to these organizations to fund new ideas and projects aimed to serve children in Cherokee County.

Established in 1935, the Service League of Cherokee County is a volunteer group of 100 women who work year-round, collectively volunteering more than 10,000 hours per year to raise funds for local needy children.
