Shots Fired During Home Invasion In Cherokee County
The Cherokee Sheriff's Office said two masked men entered a residence on Old Mill Road and had a brief altercation with the homeowner.
CANTON, GA -- Detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office are looking for two suspects involved in a home invasion early Tuesday morning in the eastern part of the county.
Deputies were dispatched just before daybreak Tuesday, April 4 to a report of an armed robbery at a home along Old Mill Road, which is located off S.R. 20/Cumming Highway in the Lathemtown community.
The victim told police that two mask-wearing subjects entered his home and "after a brief altercation and at least one shot fired by the suspects, the suspects fled the home," the sheriff's office said.

The homeowner returned fire, and it's unknow if one of the suspects was injured. No one inside the home was injured, and there was no evidence left behind to indicate one of the subjects were injured.
Detectives have identified one of the suspects as Justin Pruitt, 29, of Jasper, and he currently has active warrants for home invasion and aggravated assault charges, the agency added. Investigators are currently following up on leads to identify the other suspect or suspects involved in the incident.
