The Snug Scores 92, or A, on Follow-Up Inspection

The July 6 report is a marked improvement over the Canton restaurant previous score of 73, or C.

CANTON, GA -- The Snug Gastropub in downtown Canton performed much better on its follow-up food service inspection with the Cherokee County Environmental Health Department.

A June 24 inspection initially resulted in the restaurant scoring a 73, or C. The establishment at 190 East Main Street improved its standing with a 92, or A, obtained on the July 6 follow-up report.

The inspector made note of the following items on the most recent review:

  • Observed uncovered pies in reach in freezer unit. PIC covered pies as requested. Stored items must be covered. Observed uncovered items in reach bottom unit under fan unit w/dripping condensation. Cover items under fan unit (items were covered on request). Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
  • Chef knives stored in sheath which had food buildup/debris on interior. Knives and sheath removed for cleaning. Potato residue observed in grid of potato puncher which was last used the day before. Disassemble this item properly for cleaning after use. Observed meat residue on slicer after it had been used and cleaned by employee. Units disassembled for proper cleaning/re-cleaning. Corrected On-Site. Repeat Violation.
  • Missing tiles in a few areas which must be replaced. Install tiles above pizza oven. Install weather stripping at back door and repair closer. Repeat Violation.
