Stolen Car Found Engulfed In Flames In Cherokee County

The Mercedes was stolen Monday from Marietta and was later found on fire on Interstate 575 north, near the Howell Bridge Road exit.

BALL GROUND, GA — Cherokee County fire investigators are asking the public to come forward with information relating to a car fire this week.

Investigators say a black 2018 Mercedes GLE350 was stolen Monday from Marietta, and was then, located in Cherokee County engulfed in flames on Interstate 575 north, near the Howell Bridge Road exit.

Firefighters responded around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and extinguished the fire, according to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
