Cattle Tunnel Removal, Turn Lane Construction Planned For Stringer Road

The work will start Monday, Dec. 19 and is expected to run through Friday, Dec. 30.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA -- Motorists who rely on a segment of Stringer Road in Holly Springs will have to utilize another route for the latter half of December.

Road construction is slated to begin on the road Monday, Dec. 19 and run through Friday, Dec. 30, the city of Holly Springs said.

City Manager Rob Logan said plans call for removing the former cattle tunnel under Stringer Road and constructing turn lanes in front of the new Cagle Heights subdivision.

Constructing the turn lanes, he added, are set to be completed during Christmas break.

The road will be closed to through traffic, and a closure plan and detour route will be implemented for motorists and residents in the area.

That detour route will utilize Hickory Road, Hickory Flat Highway and East Cherokee Drive.
