Suspect Shoots at Car In Road Rage Incident: Police

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident, which happened Saturday evening in Canton.

CANTON, GA -- Detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office are looking for a vehicle and suspect they say were involved in a road rage incident Saturday evening in Canton.

According to the agency, the incident was reported around 10 p.m. Dec. 17 on Reinhardt College Parkway/S.R. 140 north of the S.R. 5 Connector.

A couple from Jasper and their teenage grandson were traveling northbound "when a car that they had pulled out in front (of) began firing shots at their vehicle," sheriff's office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said.

The victim reporting hearing several shots, but no one in the car was injured, Baker stated.

Investigators recovered a round from what appeared to be a large caliber weapon from the victim's vehicle. The suspect's vehicle has not been identified, and anyone with information related to or possibly witnessed this incident is urged to call 911.
