Suspect Indicted In Canton Double Homicide Remains At Large

Bryson Miller was indicted by a Cherokee County grand jury in connection to the June 2017 double fatal shootings.

CANTON, GA — The Canton Police Department has put the call out for the public to help them locate a suspect who was indicted in connection to the 2017 fatal shootings that killed two men on Crisler Street.

Bryson LeShawn Miller, who was indicted earlier this month by a Cherokee County grand jury, has not been booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. Miller, 29, of Canton, is described as a black male who is about 5'10'' tall, weighs around 165 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.

The Canton resident is among 13 defendants named in two indictments related to the double homicides. He is the final alleged perpetrator in the indictment who remains free, and a bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Miller was indicted on five counts of street gang terrorism. Christian Johnson, who was reported to be at large on Friday, was taken into custody on Monday in Baltimore, Maryland, said Police Chief Mark Mitchell. The grand jury indicted Johnson on 18 counts of street gang terrorism; one count of affray; two counts of felony murder; three counts of aggravated assault; one count each of criminal damage to property in the first and second degree and three counts of possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

Mitchell said his agency and the Cherokee County District Attorney's Office are working to extradite Johnson back to Georgia.
