Teasley Named Finalist in Family-Friendly Partnership School Award
Nine finalists were chosen from a pool of applicants across the state and the winner will be announced in the spring.

Canton’s Teasley Middle School has been named as a Georgia Family-Friendly Partnership School Award finalist by the Georgia Department of Education.
Nine finalists were chosen from applicants statewide.
A panel of six judges will visit the school this spring to see firsthand how the school has “cultivated an environment where families and community members feel they belong, and in turn, play an important role in supporting your school’s student success,” the school district said on Monday.

The visit will include touring the school and speaking with school staff as well as available parents and students. Winners will be announced in late April or early May.
“Your school has an exceptional commitment to fostering welcoming environments that encourage families to become active partners in improving student achievement and success,” Nathan Schult, parent engagement specialist for the Georgia Department of Education, said in his letter to the school. “You should be very proud of your school’s accomplishment and I, as well as the team, look forward to observing the strong family and community engagement programs you indicated in your application.”
