Thieves Steal City Of Canton Public Works Truck: Cops

The truck, which was loaded with various lawn equipment, was stolen early Wednesday morning.

CANTON, GA — The Canton Police Department is seeking information on the theft of one of the city's vehicles.

According to the Police Department's Facebook page, two men entered the city's Public Works lot on Ridge Road around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 2 and made off with a white 206 GMC W4500. The city-owned truck bears Georgia tag GV4950.

Canton police say the vehicle is white with a black flatbed with sides rails. It also has the city of Canton logo on the doors.

At the time of the theft, police note the truck had three walk-behind mowers, weed eaters and other landscaping tools loaded on it, the agency added.
