Time's Up, Last-Minute Tax Filers

1. By midnight, you need to mail off your 2011 tax return or your request for an extension. Normally, the tax deadline is April 15. But this year, April 15 fell on a Sunday. And Monday was Emancipation Day, a holiday observed in the District of Columbia. The will remain open until 6 p.m. to accommodate last-minute filers. After that, you have to go to the Atlanta Main Post Office, 3900 Crown Rd., or the , 1605 Boggs Rd. to send off your return. Both locations will be open until midnight.
