Traffic Alert: Lane Closures Scheduled For I-575

The Georgia Department of Transportation will once again close lanes along Interstate 575 in Cobb and Cherokee counties for weekend road work.

The Express Lanes project will require crews to close one northbound lane on I-575 between S.R. 92/Alabama Road and Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock and one southbound lane between S.R. 92 and Chastain Road in Cobb.

The closures will take place nightly from 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18 to 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21.

Other lane closures of note that could affect motorists in the area:

• One southbound lane will close on I-75 at the S.R. 5/S.R. 5 Spur/Canton Road Connector and at S.R. 280/Delk Road from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; and
• Sign structure work will require one southbound lane closure on I-75 between S.R. 120 Loop/North Marietta Parkway and S.R. 5/I-575 connection from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Motorists are advised to slow down and proceed with caution, as heavy equipment and crews could be in close proximity to the roadway.
