Two Teens Arrested in Canton Armed Robbery

Two teenagers are accused of holding a man up at gunpoint and taking his wallet Wednesday evening.

Two teenagers accused of robbing a resident at gunpoint in the city of Canton have been arrested.

Oscar Falcon, 17, and Juan Bautista, 18, were both arrested on Wednesday for allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint Wednesday evening. 

According to a news release from the Canton Police Department, officers received a call at around 6:50 p.m. that a man was robbed in the vicinity of Marietta Road and Coppermine Place.

The man told police two men approached him, held up up at gunpoint, took his wallet and fled on foot. A perimeter was set up and officers used K-9s to search the area, said Pacer Cordry, community outreach officer with the Canton Police Department. 

Officers later located two men who matched the description of the suspects in the Hickory Flat Highway and Marietta Road area of the city. Both men were detained and transported to the Canton Police Department for follow-up interviews by detectives.

The suspects were eventually arrested and charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault and are currently behind bars at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.

Cordry added detectives continue to investigate "a string of armed robberies in this area."

"The Canton Police Department is encouraging citizens who live in this part of the city to be mindful of their surroundings while walking, especially in the evening or early morning hours," he added, noting residents should also call 911 if they see any suspicious activity.
