Verizon Wireless Opens 'Smart Store' in Canton

Canton, GA -- Verizon Wireless has opened its first so-called Smart Store in Canton.

The new store calls for the relocation of its current retail store on Ball Ground Highway to the new facility at 2115 Cumming Highway.
Verizon is redefining retail with the Smart Store concept, which is designed to “make shopping for wireless devices and services more convenient and personalized for customers,” the company said.

The 3,000-square-foot location features the most advanced smartphones, tablets and wireless technology, such as the new, shatterproof DROID Turbo 2 and the ever-popular Samsung Galaxy lines, along with numerous other devices with Android, Windows and Blackberry operating systems running on Verizon’s 4G LTE network.
Verizon’s Smart Store retail concept showcases numerous interactive Lifestyle Zones for customers to engage with specialists and experience hundreds of smart accessories, gadgets, apps and services. These Lifestyle Zones include:
- Get Fit – tech gear for the active sports and fitness buff
- Amplify It – numerous Bluetooth speakers and more for the music aficionado
- Home and On The Go – devices for home monitoring and energy management
- Power – all different fun color power accessories
“Verizon’s Smart Store design was created to enrich the customer experience by showcasing how wireless technology can simplify and enhance our daily lives,” said Erik Lee, director of retail sales for Verizon Wireless. “Our investment into the new, expanded start-of-the-art store reaffirms Verizon’s commitment to providing our customers in Canton and throughout Georgia with the very best retail experience.”
An expanded area is available for free in-store customizable wireless workshops that provide for personalized hands-on training, with both basic and advanced classes for all operating systems and a variety of devices and smart accessories. Schedules are posted at the store with registration and information available online at www.verizonwireless.com/workshops.
With a more open and accessible floor plan, representatives in the newly redesigned stores are also able to spend more time with customers. The company is also integrating systems to make it easy for customers to do business with Verizon Wireless across all contact points — online, in stores and through telesales.
In honor of the grand opening of the Canton Smart Store, Verizon Wireless presented a $1,500 HopeLine from Verizon grant and $650 in Publix gift cards to the Cherokee Family Violence Center during the ribbon cutting ceremony on Dec. 30.
For nearly 30 years, the Cherokee Family Violence Center has provided safety, support, and shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children who live in Cherokee County.
HopeLine is Verizon Wireless’ exclusive nationwide phone recycling program that distributes previously owned wireless phones to victims of domestic violence, supports nonprofit domestic violence advocacy groups and provides an environmentally safe method for recycling phones.
