Waleska Man, 18, Killed In Weekend Wreck

An 18-year-old Cherokee County man was killed late Saturday evening while walking along a state highway in Cartersville.

The fatal wreck occurred around 11:15 p.m. when Jordin Metcalf, who was walking northbound with his bicycle on the right edge of S.R. 3 at Market Place Boulevard, was hit from behind by a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling in the same direction, Georgia State Patrol spokesperson Tracey Watson said.
Metcalf, who lived in Waleska, was “fatally injured,” while the driver of the Tahoe, 52-year-old Cartersville resident Ellen Allen, was not injured, Watson added.

The state agency said charges are pending the completion of a follow-up investigation by the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collison Reconstruction Team.
