Weather Update: Black Ice Concerns Thursday Night, Friday Morning
Roads and bridges could refreeze as temperatures drop in Canton, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service is warning that the latest winter storm has a final attack on North Georgia: black ice.
Patches of black ice are possible across the region overnight and into Friday morning, according to the NWS. Any water that doesn’t dry up this afternoon will freeze as temperatures drop again after dark.
“Black ice will make driving dangerous,” according to the NWS. “Be cautious, especially on secondary roads, bridges, overpasses and in the higher elevations.”
