WellStar To Break Ground On Cherokee Health Park

The four-story, 112,000-square-foot health park will be located on 60 acres off Sixes Road near I-575 in Holly Springs.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA — WellStar Health System will break ground on its new Cherokee Health Park on Thursday in Holly Springs. The groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. May 24 at the facility's location off Sixes Road just west of Interstate 575.

The four story, 112,000-square-foot facility is expected to serve more than 127,000 patients in its first full year of operation an will "provide Cherokee County residents will high-quality outpatient services close to home," WellStar said.

“WellStar has always been committed to providing patients in the communities we serve with better access to world-class healthcare,” said Kem Mullins, executive vice president of WellStar Health System. “The reaction to our health parks concept has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are excited Cherokee County, home of more than 1,200 WellStar team members, will be our first health park outside of Cobb County.”

WellStar Cherokee Health Park at Holly Springs will be built in two phases on a 60-acre campus. Scheduled to be completed in August 2019, Phase 1 will include primary care and specialty physician practices, urgent care, medical imaging, a sleep center, cardiac diagnostics, lab outreach services and OrthoSport physical therapy.

Patients will have access to various medical specialties, including general surgery, family medicine, hand surgery, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, neurology, pulmonary, cardiology, pediatrics and rheumatology.

“We are thrilled to meet the growing demand for essential healthcare services in the Cherokee community by building a health park that’s convenient for residents,” said Joe Brywczynski, senior vice president of WellStar Health Parks Administration & Development. “Similar to our other WellStar Health Parks, the community-based facility will enhance the patient experience by providing outpatient services, procedures and physician visits under one roof, all connected with one electronic medical record. This will truly be a one-stop-shop opportunity and experience for patients and families. And, all services will be delivered closer to home.”

One of four WellStar Health Parks, Cherokee Health Park at Holly Springs will be located at 1120 WellStar Way. Additional health park facilities include Acworth Health Park, East Cobb Health Park and Vinings Health Park. Combined, the health parks are expected to treat more than 564,000 patients in 2018.
