What is Medical Weight Loss?

Weight loss is the most substantial health benefit available to you. It can relieve pain, anxiety, depression and boost self confidence. We speciailize in weight loss and can provide a method to meet your goal every time.

We are proud to introduce a new, revolutionary weight loss program that could promise permanent results for patients. It challenges conventional wisdom about weight loss and views excessive weight as a medical condition requiring medical attention. This program has been researched and involves the use of FDA-approved medications. They are fully endorsed medications. Most people have little or no side effects.

Recent statistics from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Health Statistics indicate that 67% of American adults are overweight or obese, up 25% since 1980. Telling an individual to eat less when they are overweight is equivalent to telling a person with asthma to stop wheezing. And, just as a diabetic or hypertensive person can't be expected to control his or her disease without a suitable diet and medical program, neither should an overweight person.

We have designed this program for the patient who has developed a subconscious food obsession and who has been unsuccessful at achieving and maintaining an ideal body weight with the efforts of our original program. It is essential that the patient understand that the prescription therapy program will be administered as a whole, not just as a drug therapy program.

It has three vital components:

- Counseling, which is the underlying success factor

- Moderate exercise

- Prescription therapy

One-on-one visits at least one time per week, nutritional counseling, and the accountability factor make our high quality service and care a top priority. The second component of this program is moderate exercise. It is a well-known fact that the higher percentage of muscle, the quicker the metabolic rate. We will be encouraging our patients, through our Exercise Guide to engage in some form of light exercise. The final component is the medication, which is combined with the concern and follow-up of our committed physicians.
