What's Opened, Closed on Thanksgiving Day in Canton

If you still have last-minute business to take care of with local governments this week, you will have to squeeze in those affairs on Wednesday -- or wait until next week.

That’s because the city of Canton and Cherokee County government offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Both entities will return to a normal schedule on Monday, Nov. 30.

Canton residents whose garbage collection falls on Thursday will be delayed until Friday. Friday customers will be served on Saturday.

Since Cherokee County does not provide residential waste collection services, unincorporated citizens will have to reach out to their service providers for holiday schedules.

The Cherokee County Recycling Center will also close Thursday. The Sequoyah Regional Library System will also close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, and will remain closed on Thursday and Friday.
