A child was also transported to an area hospital following the collision, which was reported on Highway 369 at Yellow Creek Road.
BALL GROUND, GA -- A woman is in critical condition following a three-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in eastern Cherokee County.
Crews with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the collision around 2:30 p.m. April 25 at the intersection of S.R. 369 and Yellow Creek Road.
Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and discovered a white Chrysler passenger vehicle left the roadway and traveled down an embankment, the agency said.

The driver, a woman who appeared to be in her 40's, was transported to North Fulton Hospital in critical condition, said Cherokee fire spokesperson Tim Cavender.
A small male toddler, who appeared to be two or three years old, suffered a bump on his head, but "was talking to EMT's and paramedics" while on the scene, Cavender said.

A white Chevrolet pickup truck also went down an embankment on the opposite side of the road. The driver of that truck, a male, was able to escape and walk to an ambulance waiting nearby. His son, however, was also transported by ambulance to WellStar North Fulton Hospital for treatment, Cavender added.
Another vehicle, a black Ford pickup truck, was also involved in the collision, but its male driver was not injured. A transfer truck swerved to miss the accident, and did not suffer any damage when it came to a rest on the side of the road. However, the vehicle became stuck and needed to be removed by towing company. The accident remains under investigation by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office.
