Yard Sale To Benefit Sequoyah AFJROTC Students

Hickory Flat, GA -- Sequoyah High School’s AFJROTC will hold its annual Yard Sale on Saturday, March 5.

The sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the school, which is located at 4485 Hickory Road.

In conjunction with the yard sale, the students will also be selling food such as hot dogs, drinks and snacks such as brownies, cupcakes and cookies.

The organization also welcomes donations from businesses and other groups in the area. All funds raised during this event will go towards enabling the unit to keep the costs of its academic, co-curricular and other field trips affordable for student cadets.

Additionally, this yard sale will significantly reduce individual costs for our upcoming events like our Team Building Field Trip and Summer Cadet Leadership Course.

Some of the items residents can donate include:

• Food and drinks
• Furniture such as bedroom sets, dressers, shelving units, bookcases, chairs, sofas or couches
• Clothing and shoes
• Kitchen appliances
• Electronics
• Sporting equipment
• Books, movies, CDs
• Antiques and unique items
• Toys
• Bicycles, scooters, Barbie/Hot Wheels jeeps
• Baby items
• Jewelry
• Anything one would consider donating to other organizations such as Goodwill.

Anyone who’d like to drop off donated items can stop by the school at 7 a.m. March 5. If you’d like to drop off items the week before the yard sale, contact Ronald J. Whittle, Lt, Col., USAF (Ret), senior aerospace science instructor, at 478-284-9948.
