$100K Reportedly Missing From Bartow Habitat For Humanity
A member of the board of directors reported the alleged theft to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is investigating allegations that more than $100,000 has been taken from the local Habitat For Humanity organization.
A deputy was dispatched around 12:57 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 and met with the chairperson of the Bartow Habitat For Humanity Board of Directors.
According to an incident report released by the Bartow sheriff's office, Mary Holderby reported that more than $100,000 was allegedly "misappropriated" by a former executive director of the organization.

That person's name has not been revealed, as the case remains under the investigation and no charges have been filed at this point. Holderby did not have documentation to back up the allegations at the time of the report. The sheriff's office investigator informed Holderby to gather any information that would support her claims and present her findings to detectives for review.
Habitat For Humanity has a presence in more than 1,000 communities across the country and dozens of countries around the globe. The group works to build affordable housing for less fortunate families. The Bartow County office, which includes the Habitat For Humanity ReStore, is located at 14 Eagles Court in Cartersville.
