Child, 4, Hospitalized After Found Unresponsive in Pool

RYDAL -- Another child was found unresponsive inside a pool this week in Bartow County.

The latest incident involving a four-year-old child took place on Friday, May 27 at a home in Rydal.

Crews with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services responded to the possible drowning around 4:10 p.m.

Once they arrived on the scene, the child had been pulled from the pool and a family member was performing CPR, said spokesperson Brad Cothran.

"The crew stated the patient had good vital sign, but was not completely awake," he added.

The patient was transported to Floyd Medical Center for evaluation. The child, who became more alert upon arrival at the hospital, was later transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for additional treatment.
