Christmas Trees Can Help Bolster Allatoona Fish Habitat
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will open several drop-off points at Allatoona Lake for residents to recycle their Christmas trees.

Cartersville, GA -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District’s Allatoona Lake Project wants your Christmas trees!

The agency will provide seven sites to drop off your Christmas trees for the 2015-16 holiday season. Starting Saturday, Dec. 26. all drop-off sites will be marked with signs and flagging tape with utilization.

- Allatoona Operations Project Management Office, 1138 GA Highway 20 Spur, Cartersville;
- Victoria Day Use, 955 Victoria Landing Drive, Woodstock;
- Galt’s Day Use,7299 Rocky Lane, Acworth;
- Sweetwater Campground Overflow parking area, 1400 Field’s Chapel Road, Canton;
- Payne Boat Ramp, 2495 Kellogg Creek Road, Acworth;
- Blockhouse 1 fishing jetty (behind Paw Paw’s Convenience Store); and
- Bethany Bridge Fishing Jetty parking area.
The collected trees will be utilized as part of the Allatoona Lake Fish Habitat Improvement Program, which is a partnership between federal, state, and local governments, as well as several group organizations and businesses.
