Clubs from all over the U.S. rallied together to accomplish one common goal: to give the kids at Flowering Branch Children’s Shelter a summer to remember.

“This year, they really outdid themselves, as organizers raised record breaking $14,000 towards summer activities for our kids at Flowering Branch,” the shelter said on Monday in its newsletter.

Proceeds will fund summer activities for children at the shelter.

Riders registered around 9 a.m. and then enjoyed breakfast as they caught up with old friends. Meanwhile, the shelter was buzzing with excitement, as kids at the shelter scurried about, making new friends, with their colorful bandannas tied around their heads.

Riders, kids, volunteers and volunteers alike gathered in the facility’s backyard to sing the National Anthem and ”watched in awe as doves were released into the clear blue sky,” the shelter said.

Attendees were also delighted with a surprise performance of an poem written by one of our shelter residents. The kids led the riders to their bikes, and off they went for a scenic tour before ending the day at Southern Devil Harley Davidson.

“The day was filled with food, friends, and good company,” the shelter added. “We are so fortunate to have the support of this wonderful group of people. Thank you for enabling our kids to have a summer filled with joy and happiness.”
