Now the Canes turn their attention home, as Cartersville hosts the Wingfoot XC Classic this Saturday at Sam Smith Park, giving local fans a chance to cheer them on in person.
   

2. 2027 Master Gardener Extension Volunteer Training Fridays Jan. 15 to March 26 in Cartersville, GA (uga.edu) — Residents interested in gardening can apply now for the 2027 Master Gardener Extension Volunteer training, with Friday classes held at the Bartow County Extension office in Cartersville. Baltimore art museum named among best in South (thedailyrecord.com) — Cartersville's Booth Western Art Museum just earned a major shout-out, landing on Southern Living's list of the 17 best art museums in the South. The recognition puts the local museum alongside major institutions from Atlanta, Savannah, and across the region, underscoring Cartersville's growing reputation as a destination for top-tier Western and American art.
   

5. Energy Transition Comes Home: Next-Gen Electrification Manufacturing Expanding in the U.S. (energytech.com) — Cartersville plays a major role in America's clean-energy buildout as Qcells ramps up its local plant into what it calls the nation's first fully vertically integrated solar manufacturing operation. The facility is already turning out thousands of panels daily and is expected to produce gigawatts of ingots, wafers, cells, and modules, supporting jobs and positioning Cartersville in a fast-growing industry.
