Police Arrest Adairsville Shooting Suspects

One suspect was arrested in North Georgia while another was apprehended after a police chase. A third suspect remains at large.

ADAIRSVILLE, GA — Two suspects police say were involved in a shooting early Monday morning outside a convenience store in Bartow County have been arrested, but authorities say one more person of interest remains at large.

Adairsville police, with the help of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, LaFayette Police Department and Walker County Sheriff's Office, arrested Destany Marie Schubert, 20, of LaFayette around 9 p.m. Monday, May 7. The vehicle police sought in connection to the shooting, a gold-colored Toyota Camry, was found at a residence in Ringgold, the police department added.

The male suspect, Michael Sean Conner, 25, of Sparta, Tennessee, was arrested Monday in Marion County, Tenn., following a police chase of a stolen vehicle. A passenger inside the Toyota Camry, identified as Kristy Lynn Davis, 36, of Summerville, remains at large.

Officers with the Adairsville Police Department responded to the shooting around 2:30 a.m. May 7 and found the victim inside his vehicle at QuikTrip at 961 Highway 140 NW. The victim, identified by the GBI as Jonathan Michael Meyer, 30, of Clearwater, Florida, was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. As of Tuesday, Capt. Louis Dean of the Adairsville Police Department said Meyer's condition has stabilized.

Schubert is being held at the Bartow County Jail on one count of aggravated assault, and police have issued warrants for Davis and Conner's arrests. Adairsville police say more charges are pending.
