Adairsville police say Meyer was traveling from Tennessee where he attended a wedding and was making his way back home to Florida. Meyer grew tired and "being the responsible person that he is," he decided to pull over and take a nap.

"He pulled into a very safe, well-lit gas station to take a nap like any one of us have probably done before," the police department said. "Unknown to him that he was parked beside three individuals who were about to change his life forever."
