Police: Man Throws Vacuum Cleaner At Walmart Employee

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to help them identify a man accused of throwing a vacuum cleaner at a Walmart employee.

According to an incident report released by the agency, a deputy around 4:50 p.m. May 16 responded to the store at 101 Marketplace Boulevard in Cartersville in response to a shoplifting report.
An employee with the store’s Asset Protection division said she attempted to stop a man who was allegedly walking out of the store with a vacuum cleaner valued at about $300.

According to the report, when she tried to stop the man from leaving the store, ”the male threw the vacuum cleaner at her and ran out of the store.”
On its Facebook page, the sheriff’s office noted the vacuum cleaner hit the woman in the head. In an attempt to help residents identify the suspect, the agency also shared a photo of the person of interest taken from surveillance video inside the store.
