Police: Resident Poses As Officer, Passes Out Counterfeit Coupons
The Adairsville Police Department said Justin Lee Shuler, a convicted felon, has no law enforcement background.

The Adairsville Police Department has taken out arrest warrants for a man they say has been posing as a law enforcement officer.
According to the agency’s press release, Justin Lee Shuler, 31, allegedly has been posing as an officer and has passed out several counterfeit gift card coupons.

Shuler “has no law enforcement affiliation and should be treated with caution,” the agency said.
Adairsville police spokesperson Corporal Michaela LaFrance said the agency received reports of him allegedly passing out fraudulent coupons for free gift cards.

While allegedly making the attempt, LaFrance said Shuler noted he worked with Rome-based Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s police academy program.
“He was wearing a gun at the time and claimed he was a police officer,” she added.
Adairsville police has taken out warrants on Shuler for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, four counts of forgery in the first degree and felony impersonating a police officer charges.
Additionally, LaFrance said the Calhoun Police Department and the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office have also taken out warrants for his arrest.
Residents are asked to call 911 if they see Shuler and provide the dispatcher with as much information possible.
