Shop With a Hero Home Run Derby Rescheduled For Oct. 30
The first-ever home run derby will be held at LakePoint Sporting Community near Cartersville.

A home run derby postponed last week due to severe weather that blew through Cartersville has been rescheduled.
Residents who are fans of America’s favorite past time can come out to support the first-ever Bartow County Shop With a Hero Home Run Derby on Thursday, Oct. 30.
The event will be held at 6 p.m. at LakePoint Sporting Community, which is located at 755 Highway 293 in Emerson.

The entry fee is $25 to participate and $2 spectator fee to watch the derby. Residents, who must be 16 years old to participate, can register by calling (770) 386-6696 or between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. the day of the derby.
Bats and balls will be provided. Also available will be food and drink concessions and door prizes.

All proceeds will benefit the Bartow County’s 2014 Shop with a Hero initiative, which allows less fortunate children the chance to shop for Christmas presents with an officer or firefighter.
