Sip 'N Stroll Set For May 24 In Cartersville
Participants can enjoy a drink and take a guided tour around downtown Cartersville where participants will hear about its history.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The Bartow History Museum will host a unique way for you to learn more about downtown Cartersville. The organization will host its Sip 'N Stroll event at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 24.
Attendees will meet at the Bartow History Museum where they can enjoy a glass of wine, lemonade or light snacks. Following that, participants will take a guided tour around the area where they can learn more about the history of downtown.
For example, you will learn that the 1869 courthouse, now home to the Bartow History Museum, once housed a roller skating rink. Discover the link daredevil and aviatrix Mabel Cody had with The Grand Theatre, hear about the world’s first outdoor Coca-Cola sign, and more. Of course, you can make the trip back to the museum to enjoy another beverage before taking a self-guided tour of the facility.

“This is a fun way to learn a little about the history of the historic downtown area while enjoying its current charm," said Manager of Programs Joshua Graham. "We hope to see both long term residents who can comment on their own memories, as well as...those (who are) new to the area (who) want to learn a little something about the history of the downtown.”
