The ninth-annual event provides a free meal to residents in need. Donations are also needed for hats, coats, blankets, gloves and scarves.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Toyo Tire is gearing up for its ninth annual Community Christmas Luncheon, which provides a full meal for anyone in Bartow County. This year's event will be held from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Cartersville Civic Center.
The meal, which is free, of course, includes roasted turkey, baked ham, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, assorted vegetables, homemade desserts, tea, lemonade and water.
Bartow Transit will be providing transportation and anyone who needs a ride can call 770-387-5165 Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents must make a reservation at least 24 hours before the event in order to get on the transportation list.

If you know individuals or families who may have had a hard time this year, bring them to the Christmas luncheon or spread word about the event, as it's a great time for everyone to come together to enjoy a home-cooked meal, Christmas music and a chance to get to know your neighbors.
If you're looking for some volunteer opportunities, you are more than welcome to donate gently worn and clean -- or new -- coats, blankets, hats, scarves and gloves. These items can be dropped off at Renasant Bank at 880 Joe Frank Harris Parkway or 42 Old Mill Road. Also needed are volunteers who can made homemade desserts, which can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. the morning of the luncheon.
