A new face will join the Cartersville City Council, and the two local school systems will continue to use sales tax revenue for various improvement projects.

That’s according to preliminary election results, which show challenger Taff Wren defeating incumbent Lori Pruitt for the Cartersville City Council Ward 6 seat. These result also indicate voters have given the nod to continue the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax for the Cartersville City and Bartow County school systems.
