• Bartow and Cartersville High Schools Exceeds Georgia's Historic High Graduation Rate (wbhfradio.org) — Cartersville High School posted a strong 94.3 percent graduation rate for the class of 2026, keeping local students ahead of Georgia's new record statewide rate of 88.5 percent. Nearby Adairsville, Cass, and Woodland high schools also topped 90 percent, reflecting years of statewide efforts to expand career pathways, diploma options, and support that help more Georgia students finish high school prepared for life.
   

• Lady Canes roll on, sweep Warriors (bartowsportszone.com) — Cartersville High's volleyball team continued its dominant season Tuesday, sweeping North Cobb in straight sets and picking up a forfeit region win over Villa Rica to move to 32-3 and 6-0 in Region 7-5A. Ranked third in Class 5A, the Lady Canes now head to Alpharetta and Marist on Thursday, while other Bartow County teams, including Adairsville and Woodland, struggled in recent matches.
   

• Popular Women's Fashion Retailer Closing 120 Stores: What To Know In GA (patch.com) — Cato, a budget-friendly women's fashion chain with a store in Cartersville, plans to close 120 locations nationwide this year, though it hasn't said which ones. The company, which operates 67 Georgia stores, is reviewing leases and targeting weaker performers after recent sales and profits declined, so local shoppers may want to keep an eye on the Cartersville location's future.
