WATCH: Anheuser-Busch Makes 50,000 Cans Of Water For Harvey Victims

The brewery put their production on hold to can water, instead of beer, to send to victims of Hurricane Harvey.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Anheuser-Busch in Cartersville halted beer production to help take care of a massive need for victims of Hurricane Harvey— water. The brewery is sending 50,000 cans of water to Baton Rouge, which was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey.

Sarah Schilling, the Brewmaster of the Anheuser-Busch Cartersville location, said “Throughout the year, we periodically pause beer production at our Cartersville, Georgia brewery to produce emergency canned drinking water so we are ready to help out communities across the country in times of crisis.

"Putting our production and logistics strengths to work by providing safe, clean drinking water is the best way we can help in these situations,” she said, according to a press release.

The press release said that 90 people spent the night in seven Red Cross shelters in Baton Rouge on Thursday, and that almost 50 additional shelters are being stood up to care for potentially thousands.
