Woman, Possibly Smoking While Using Oxygen, Burned Inside Home
Bartow EMS crews say the incident occurred Friday morning at a home off Iron Belt Road in Cartersville.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- An elderly Bartow County woman who suffered burns early Friday morning was possibly smoking while using an oxygen tank.
That's according to Bartow County Emergency Medical Services, which on Sept. 2 dispatched crews to a call reporting that the resident "had been burn(ed) by accident," said spokesperson Brad Cothran.
Crews arrived at the home located off Iron Belt Road and found the woman afflicted with burns to her face, neck, chest and back.

It's the second case reported this week of a resident suffering burns in Bartow County. On Tuesday, a 59-year-old woman suffered second- and third-degree burns when a can nestled inside a fire exploded and covered the patient's face, neck, torso and arms with a hot liquid, Cothran previously told Patch.
