AIB-TV 13TH ANNUAL ALLEN AWARDS & NEW FACILTY DEDICATION/TOUR

The 2014 AIB Allen
Awards and New Facility Open House is planned for March 25, 2014. The Awards
Program is set for 12 noon at the Historic Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church,
2715 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305.Β It will be followed by the Grand Opening Dedication and Tour of AIB’s
recently expanded Administrative and Studio Complex at the corner of 12th and
Spring Street in Midtown Atlanta at 3 p.m.



The AIB Allen Awards, named in honor of AIB’s founder,
John Houston Allen, is the network’s signature annual event, with five award
categories to honor leaders in the community who are making a difference in the
world and a programming partner that uses AIB as media for sharing its
enlightening and educational message of hope with AIB viewers.



Allen Award honorees selected are those individuals,
groups, and organizations that best illustrate the AIB ethos of generating
interfaith conversation and cooperation in their mode of operation and delivery
of services. The five categories include:

  • the John H.
    Allen Humanitarian Award, presented in honor of AIB’s founder, John Houston
    Allen

  • the John A.
    Conant Community Service Award, in memory of former AIB Board President, John
    Conant

  • the William
    Womack Creative Arts Awards, named for AIB’s legendary staffer and renowned
    musician

  • The Programmer
    of the Year Award is given to an AIB Programmer who effectively uses media to
    spread a message of hope and is selected by votes submitted by AIB’s viewers;

  • And, the AIB
    Spirit Award given quarterly to an individual and/or organization that makes a
    difference in the lives of others





  • Β Immediately
    following the Allen Awards, supporters of AIB and members of the community will
    be invited to tour the new wing of the AIB complex. The renovation/addition, enlarging
    the AIB building to more than 4,000 square feet, comes from the vision of AIB’s
    President/CEO, Collie Burnett. The expansion not only provides more space for
    AIB’s administrative team, studios, and production staff but is an impressive
    new physical presence for the organization at the corner of Spring and 12thΒ  streets.
