Airport West CID Seeks First Public Safety Director
Airport West CID Seeks First Director of Public Safety. Director will develop comprehensive public safety strategies, programs for CID.

The search is on for one highly qualified individual to enhance the quality of public safety in the Airport West Community Improvement District (AWCID).
Executive Director Gerald McDowell announced today that the AWCID is accepting applications from law enforcement and public safety professionals to serve as the organizationβs first-ever Public Safety Director.
McDowell explained that the new staff member will oversee all aspects of operations related to safety, including closely interacting with law enforcement representatives serving Fulton County and the cities of Atlanta, College Park and East Point.
βOur ideal candidate will have the personality and first-hand knowledge to be a liaison between our property owners, businesses and all of the public safety agencies that protect them,β McDowell said. βWeβre looking for experienced leadership to build strong relationships and deliver comprehensive programs addressing concerns within the CIDβs service area.β

β’ Minimal of 10 years of law enforcement experience
β’ Prior experience supervising law enforcement officers
β’ Experience with law enforcement task forces at the federal or state level
β’ Familiarity with south Fulton County, south Atlanta, College Park and East Point

The AWCIDβs territory extends from west to east along Camp Creek Pkwy (SR 6) at Merk Road to the Airport/Clayton County line. The district extends north along I-85 to Virginia Avenue and south on I-85, Best Road and Main Street (US 29/Spur 14) to the industrial areas on Buffington Road and Naturally Fresh Boulevard. The district accounts for 174 owners, including 140 commercial and 32 industrial, and a value exceeding $322 million.
