Alabama Defeats Washington in Atlanta Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Rematch with Clemson For Championship
Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Will Host College Football Championship in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in January 2018

Alabama University 14-0 and the number one team in regular season extended its winning streak of 26 straight wins, the most in college football history, defeating number four Washington Huskies in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl 24-7. After the win at the Georgia Dome, the last college football game to be played there, the Crimson Tide now goes on to play the Clemson Tigers in a rematch of last year's championship game in Tampa, Fla on Monday, January 9. Clemson shut out Ohio State 31-0 in the Fiesta Bowl to reach the championship.

Another historical first on Saturday was the 75,996 attendance record, the most of any college football competition at the Georgia Dome. This was the last collegiate football game to be played at the Georgia Dome which will be demolished and replaced with the $1.5 billion brand new Mercedes- Benz Stadium slated to be completed later this year. Alabama is going for its fifth championship in eight years. Atlanta natives on the Alabama team include Dalin Tomlinson of McDonough; Brandon Greene of Ellenwood and Cedar Grove High School; Scott Meyer of Alpharetta and Blessed Trinity Catholic HS and Hunter Bryant of Roswell GA and Fellowship Christian School.
