Atlanta Medical Center Opens Primary Care Practice on Cascade Road

A new primary care physician practice opens April 1, 2013 for residents of southwest Atlanta.

Atlanta Medical Center Primary Care Physicians at Cascade is located in the Kroger shopping center on Cascade Road. Same-day and some Saturday appointments are available.

Maya J. Carter, MD, a board certified family medicine physician, is accepting new patients. Dr. Carter joined the Atlanta Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program as a faculty physician in October 2009, teaching medical residents and students. She has also served as a primary care physician in underserved medical communities, as well as in private practice.

Dr. Carter is a graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and completed her family medicine training at the Duke University Family Medicine Residency Program in Durham, N.C., where she served as chief resident. Her specialties are preventive medicine, community medicine, and patient education. Prior to medical training, Dr. Carter received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Spelman College in Atlanta.

“I look forward to serving the residents of southwest Atlanta, and hope to make a positive impact on healthcare for the greater Atlanta community,” Dr. Carter says.

Atlanta Medical Center Primary Care Physicians at Cascade is located at 3355 Cascade Road, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30311.
