"Middle of Nowhere," directed by Ava Duvernay and produced by Cascade Patch resident Paul Garnes, takes home a big win at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah

Congratulations are in order for independent film and television producer and Cascade Patch resident Paul Garnes. Β His latest film, "Middle of Nowhere," directed by Los Angeles based Ava Duvernay has won the coveted Best Director award at the world renowned Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

The movie, shot on location in Los Angeles during the summer of 2011, features "Red Tails" star David Oyelowo and newcomer Emayatzy Corinealdi who gives an equally award winning performance in her first starring role.
