Sickle Cell Foundation Thanks Celebrity Bowl-a-Thon Participants

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, Inc. recently thanked celebrities who contributed their time towards this year's successful 2010 Bowl-A-Thon. held this fall at the Suburban Lanes Bowling Center in Decatur. 

Proceeds of the event benefitted the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that is headquartered at 2391 Benjamin E. Mays Drive in Southwest Atlanta.

NBA basketball players Michael Glenn, Theo Ratliff and Eric Snow; Olympic 2-time gold medalist Angelo Taylor; recording artist T-Boz;  DeKalb County Sheriff Thomas Brown; Attorney Brent Wilson; pioneer entrepreneurs Gregory and Juanita Baranco, Owners of the Baranco Automotive Group (Mercedes Benz of Buckhead);  and WYZE Radio Host Pastor Marvalene Foster. A special appearance was made by LA-based actor Sean Blakemore, a cast member of General Hospital who is best known for starring in Rainforest Films' Motivesseries. 

Wilson (pictured), a Partner at Elarbee Thompson Sapp & Wilson LLP and a 2010 inductee into the Atlanta Business League's Men of Influence, described the event as a "good time for a great cause", and said he hoped that the event generated more awareness and funds for the Foundation and its efforts to provide education, screening and counseling to sickle cell patients.
