Barbadian, British and Brilliant with Gary Younge

Spelman College's SIS Oral History Project hostsΒ the lecture "Barbadian, British and Brilliant," with author andΒ MSNBC contributor Gary Younge, at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Clark Atlanta University, SIS Suite, 2nd floor, Trevor Arnett.

Younge’s books include "Who Are We? And Should It MatterΒ in the 21st Century: A Black Briton’s Journey Through the Deep South" and "The Speech: The Story Behind Martin Luther King’s Dream."Β 

As a journalist for The Guardian,Β Younge covered Nelson Mandela from 2010 until Mandela’s death in 2014. As part of a new book project on violence against Black men in the U.S., he is conducting interviews with families of every Black male murdered in the U.S. on the day after Thanksgiving 2013.
