Boy Scout Troop 2020 Lands First Eagle
Local high school students are doing great things in the community while earning Boy Scouts highest award.

Ryan Cooper 15 and Joshua Dent 18 have successfully earned their Eagle Scout rank. The Eagle Scout rank is the highest rank achieved in Boy Scouts. Ryan is a 10th Grader attending Westlake High School who has earned 36 merit badges, in addition to completing his Eagle Service Project titled βKicks that bring Smilesβ; a shoe drive to benefit the people of Fond-Parisen, Haiti. Whereby, he collected over 2,000 new and gently used pairs of shoes. Joshua is a 12th Grader attending Hapeville Career Academy who has earned 26 merit badges and completed his Eagle Scout service project entitled βThe Hapeville Gardensβ; a school/community garden which consist of 5 raised garden beds for each grade level 8th through 12th. Ryan and Joshua are members of Troop 2020, chartered at Ben Hill United Methodist Church. Ryan and Joshua are the first Eagle Scouts for Troop 2020 which has been chartered since 2009.
