Once Again, the 2012 Atlanta Jazz Festival and the 5-Families Do Not Disappoint
Another fantastic Atlanta Jazz Fest complete with World-Class Musicians. The 5 Families have been there for over 15 of the 35 years. The 5 Families & Jazz Festival mirror each other in size & quality.
This weekend, the 35th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival once again took over Piedmont Park for a stellar event. With a spectacular lineup of local favorites, and musicians from across the country this year’s festival had something for everyone. The music, food, vendors and children's area offered a great community and family event to kick off the summer with activities for young and old.
This year, as in years past, we joined "The 5 Families" and enjoyed great food, fellowship, and music. The 5 Families is the moniker given to the organizing committee of a top-notch group of people from various backgrounds and a great example of six degrees of separation (or what sometimes feels more like 3 here in Atlanta). The 5 Families have been holding it down at Jazz-fest for over 15 years and the organization and size of the group gets bigger and better every year. For the regulars that serve as the group’s core, and the idea that your friends are my friends and their friends are our friends it's always a great crew that fellowships together yearly during the festival. For the 5 Families it seems like almost every year, there is something new. This year, keeping up with technology was the launch of a website and live twitter feed. Just like the Atlanta Jazz Fest, The 5 Families is a great example of what great organizers, collective community support and contributions can deliver- a World-Class event!
