Out of Africa is First Runner Up in Traditional Quilt Category at Atlanta Quilt Festival

Out of Africa by Melinda Rushing was chosen by the judges as First Runner Up in the Traditional Quilt Category. This quilt is based on an original block by Nicole Blackwell which Nicole created for the book Trip Around the World. It is composed of log cabin blocks with appliqué.

The quilts in the 2012 Atlanta Quilt Festival exhibit are absolutely amazing! They are definitely a must see. The exhibit will remain up through August 11th at the South Fulton Arts Center, 4645 Butner Road, College Park, GA. The Center is open daily from 10 – 5 p.m., but will be open until 7 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2012. It is closed Sunday.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. While there, make sure you cast your votefor the one quilt that you think is BEST OF SHOW.
