Where Do Vegetarians Get Their Protein?
As a physician who is and advocates a vegan diet I'll answer the question I hear most often "Where do you get your protein?"
As a physician who is and advocates a vegan diet the question I hear most often is "Where do you get your protein?" The meat and dairy industry has us convinced that we need meat, eggs or dairy to get enough protein. We at least need beans right? Wrong! This is a message we hear loud and clear too from those who support vegan diets.
What about vegetables? Do they have protein? How much protein do we need anyway? And by the way, have you EVER heard of anyone who isn't starving that is suffering from protein malnutrition? The fact is that we eat too much protein. This has caused many of the health problems that exist today.
This video is an excerpt from our Conscious Vegan class. In it I answer this question that is all too familiar to anyone who is vegan or vegetarian.
