Music Teachers Offer Piano, Voice, World Drumming, Jazz Improv and More for Elementary,

Middle & High School Band & Orchestra Students

– Where can aspiring and experienced band and orchestra





students come together this summer and enjoy the

rare opportunity to play in a combined symphonic program all while exploring

the piano, sharpening their jazz chops and learning some world drumming licks?

This answer is Camp Allegro, a music

camp for beginning and experienced metro Atlanta students in elementary, middle

and high schools.
Camp Allegro is now enrolling music students for its fun,

yet fast-paced summer music enrichment program. Camp Allegro will offer two, one-week sessions.

The

first session titled, β€œDevelop and Discover” for elementary students in grades 3rd

through 5th is June 9th through June 13th.Β  Β Elementary student registration fee is $160.Β  Β Students will work on basic tone and technique

and be introduced to piano, singing and world drumming.





The second session titled β€œStrengthen

and Stretch”
is tailored to middle and high school students, 6th

through 12th grades, and offered June 16th through June 20th. Β Registration for middle and high school

students is $190.Β  Students will work on jazz

improvisation, music theory and ear training and play in small as well as large

group ensembles. Camp Allegro will be

held at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 2295 Benjamin E. Mays Drive in

Southwest Atlanta, GA.Β  The Camp will operate

from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Β Students need

his/her own instrument.
Limited instrumental rentals are available from Camp

Allegro or from Jackson’s Music Store (770-996-3680.) Free breakfast and lunch

will be offered in conjunction with the City of Atlanta’s Summer Food Service

Program.

Stressing the importance of music education, Daughrity explains

skills of students in 3rd – 12th grades outside of the

traditional school music program.Β  We use

proven and engaging teaching techniques during class, small group, and private
