Community Day at Spelman Museum of Fine Art

Families are invited to Community Day, an afternoon of fun-filled explorations of the RenΓ©e Stout: Tales of the Conjure Woman exhibition at Spelman College Museum of Fine Art. There will be make-and-take art workshops, interactive tours, dance and more, Saturday, March 22, 2014.

A schedule of Community Day activities:

  • 1:30pm - Yoga
  • 2pm-2:30pm - Interactive tour of the exhibition
  • 2pm-2:30pm - Healthy Snack Demonstration
  • 2pm-4pm - Make-and-Take Art Workshop
  • 2:30pm-3pm - Interactive Tour of the exhibition
  • 3pm-4pm - Traditional Haitian Dance Workshop led by Martine Zhenga Volcy
  • 3pm-3:30pm - Interactive Tour of the exhibition
African-derived folk beliefs are explored in RenΓ©e Stout: Tales of the Conjure Woman. Featuring Stout’s multimedia works, the exhibition, on view through May 17, 2014, brings together painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, glassblowing, installation, and compelling storytelling.
