Delta Sigma Theta Atlanta Alumnae Chapter

Delta Sigma Theta Atlanta Alumnae Chapter & Morehouse School of Medicine Present the 36th Annual Health Walk & Health Fair April 25


The Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in partnership with Morehouse School of Medicine will host its 36th Annual Health Fair and 5k Heart Walk on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Greenbriar Mall. This year’s health fair will engage the community through exercise and living a well balanced life. The event is free and open to the public with free health screenings available onsite.

The 5k Heart Walk will begin at 8:00 am, and will include a warm-up by dance and fitness guru Stepp Stewart from the Dr. Oz television show. It is anticipated that more than 500 people from the Southwest Atlanta community will attend the health fair. More than 50 vendors will provide education on lupus, ovarian cancer, kidney disease, as well as free health screenings for blood pressure and diabetes. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Since its founding more than 200,000 women have joined the organization. The organization is a sisterhood of predominantly Black, college educated women. The sorority currently has 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica and the Republic of Korea. Carol Carter is President of the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter.
